Our club has been steadily growing since its inception, and we have over a hundred members of all ages and backgrounds.  Our membership not only hails from the Cedar Rapids/Iowa City area, but we also have members from all over the state of Iowa as well as out of state.

We meet the third Thursday of every month at DC’s River Walk Pub in Cedar Rapids.  Meetings consist mostly of kicking back, enjoying the company of fellow Parrot Heads, and holding a short business meeting keeping everyone up to date on upcoming events and activities!

One Particular Harbour Nights are truly a social outing the first Wednesday of the month.  During the summer months, we move outdoors to a family picnic night.  Check the website monthly so you’ll know where to find us and join in on the PHUN!

Throughout the year, we have special parties (in addition to the Thursday meetings), road trips to other club phlockings and Jimmy’s concerts, special events like our Annual Island Fever Phlocking, supporting local events (such as hockey, baseball, etc.), participate in local holiday events (parades, cardboard boat regatta to name a few), along with programs that are beneficial to the community.  This should provide you a little flavor for what we are about.

We also have supported several Trop Rock bands at our local events including our very own Cedar Island Band, adding to our PHUN.  Check out the other’s web-sites – Stars On the Water, PHINS, Johnny Russler and the Beach Bum Band, Gene Mitchell, Scott Kirby, Sauce Boss, and Larry Joe Taylor.

Membership entitles you to all of these activities, as well as receiving our monthly newsletter, “Message from the Isle”, which details the club’s past and future activities.  Perhaps it can all be summed up best by Scott Nickerson, President and Founder of Parrot Heads in Paradise (the National Parrot Head Club), “The real beauty of the clubs is that they seem to attract exactly the right kind of people — people who, through their attraction to Jimmy Buffett‘s music, also have a lot of other interests in common; most importantly, the desire to give something back to the communities in which they live.”

If we are still holding your attention, and you like to have PHUN, while doing some good for the community – come and check us out!
