Mon, Jan 9th – Guest Bartending at Ramsey’s Wine Bistro
5–8pm: Ramsey’s Wine Bistro at 1120 7th Ave in Marion. Dale Shafer, Tami Kluth, and Sandra Kramer will be guest bartending. There will be a special 50/50 raffle and discounted tickets available for sale. All tips and proceeds benefit the 17th Annual Blues ‘n’ Buffett Chili Challenge. The will be a drawing for a Ramsey’s Gift Card for all people who purchase a Chili Challenge Ticket at 8pm.
Sat, Jan 14th – Isle of Iowa Christmas Party
5-9pm: Fairfax Legion at 216 Main St in Fairfax (about 3 mi South on Hwy 151 from Hwy 30). Dress is casual, please bring a dish to share for the potluck, and a wrapped gift ($15-20 range) if you want to participate in the gift exchange. We also plan to have new Membership Badges, so bring your favorite lanyard!
Thur, Jan 19th – Isle of Iowa January Monthly Meeting
6–9pm: Parlor City at 1125 3rd St SE in Cedar Rapids. Get your BONUS Parrot Points: Chili Challenge Silent Auction donations and peanut butter for HACAP Operation Backpack. We plan to present checks to the charities from our 2016 fundraisers.
Fri, Jan 20th – Roughriders Mascot Mania
7pm: Cedar Rapids Ice Arena. Sign up and pre-pay by the Christmas Party. Tickets are $15 for Green Zone seating. Our Parrot Head Mascot, “JB” will be competing during intermission! Plan to meet during happy hour in the lobby from 5:30 - 6:30pm.
Tue, Jan 24th – Chili Challenge Committee Meeting
5:30pm: Chappy’s Safari Lounge at 229 16th Ave SW in Cedar Rapids. All members welcome. You may drop off Silent Auction donations at any club event.
Sun, Jan 29th – Board Meeting
5pm: Starlite Room at 3300 1st Ave NE in Cedar Rapids. All Members Welcome.
Wed, Feb 1st – February One Particular Harbor
6-9pm: Hurricane Grill & Wings at 4444 1st Ave NE Suite 602 at the Lindale Mall. Come out for our club social night for great food and drinks!
Sun, Feb 12th – The 17th Annual Blues ‘n’ Buffett Chili Challenge
1–4pm: Cedar Rapids Marriott. $10 at the door, advance tickets are available to purchase at https://blues-buffett.com for only $8 adults/$5 for seniors 65+. Proceeds benefit the Community Health Free Clinic and the HD Youth Center. Sign up to cook or volunteer!
Feb 16-18th – Clinton County PHC Spring Phling
Mariners Village and Bretz Wildlife Lodge & Winery in Carlyle, IL. Music includes Jimmy and the Parrots.
