Blood donations are a necessity for cancer patients, whether whole blood, platelets or double red. Cancer patients are the single largest recipient group for blood donations. 25 percent of all blood donations go to cancer patients.\nJimmy's passing from cancer has cast a spell of sadness over our community. Lets celebrate the random acts of kindness that Jimmy has shared with us over the years by uniting as one and give the ultimate random act of kindness to someone in need.\nThe Plan… On December 2nd, 2023 we will have 200+ blood drives across our Phlock. We would all the clubs, house concert venues, trop rock stations, musicians all come together to show the world how we “Party with a Purpose”.\nThe Goal… 2500 Pints!\nDecember is Jimmy’s birth month.\nDonations are down during the holiday season.\nJimmy’s birthday is December 25th, 2500 pints for the 100s of gifts of each other he has given us.\n \nSincerely,\nJeff Hoffman\nFormer MOTM Community Service Chair\ntxparrot@aol.com\n.PS. History Lesson..this all started between year 1 and 2 in Key West. When I was approached and finished the call I laughed, no way will this fly. I ran the idea by 15ish people I knew. Only one person said it would be something they would do, the person wasn’t me. I took the info back to the blood drive folks, they said if we only get one then it is one more than what we had. The rest is history. I still shake my head in amazement at what happened because y’all said YES! I had never been involved in a blood drive when I started.\n
