Island Fever 2015 just might end up being the biggest event that our club has ever hosted...and WE NEED YOUR DONATIONS for the Silent Auction & the Booze Raffles!
We need donations (new or gently used items) to fill baskets for the silent auction. Ideally, Sue Anderson would like to have all loose donations (those that need to be arranged) by Saturday, September 26. If you can't get your donation in by then or plan to bring a donation to the Jello Shot Party on Wednesday, September 30 at Gordy & Sandie Smith's home please contact Sue ( [email protected] or 319-431-4264 ) and let her know that you have a donation that will be coming. She continues to need some six packs of beer, wine & bottles of liquor to fill out some baskets. She has also indicated that she needs some Iowa Hawkeye items to make sure the black & gold are well represented in the auction. Again any & all donations are greatly appreciated plus you'll get bonus Parrot Points for each & every donation you make. All loose items are worth two points each and you will receive 5 points for each & every complete basket that you donate! Plus we've lifted the limits meaning that you can earn unlimited Parrot Points for your donations - Parrot Point Palooza has turned into a Parrot Point free-for-all!
We also still need several bottles of booze & more lottery tickets to complete the line-up for our Bag Raffle. Please contact Jeff Hoffman ( [email protected] or 314-686-5628) or Tina Hansen ( [email protected] or 319-560-5574) to let them know you will be making a donation. The more items we have, the more raffle items that we will be able to present this year. You will also receive bonus Parrot Points for these donations as well. Each bottle of liquor will earn you 3 Parrot Points & you will also earn Parrot Points for the lottery tickets that you donate. You will earn 1 Parrot Point for each dollar in lottery tickets that you donate (i.e. $10 in lottery tickets = 10 Parrot Points). Our Parrot Point Palooza promotion will apply to all donations made up until the phlocking. Please make sure that you identify your donations when they are made so that you can receive the proper credit!
If you are not able to make it out to the Jello Shot Party, you can drop off your donations at my workplace (4401 Sixth Street SW; Cedar Rapids, Iowa 52404) or contact me at 319-930-2833 to make arrangements to have your donation picked up. Talk about providing door to door service! 🙂
We also still need volunteers to work alongside a host of volunteers from our charities (and a group of sorority sisters from the University of Iowa) to help us staff the event. Please contact Tom Whiting ( [email protected] or 319-213-1632) to place your name on the volunteer list. we are only asking for an hour of your time! You'll receive Parrot Points for volunteering & all club volunteers will have their name entered into a special drawing for a really cool prize. If you volunteer for multiple shifts, you will get multiple entries into the volunteer prize drawing!
It's going to be a legendary Party with a Purpose - make sure that you are a part of it!
