Island Fever Showcase, PHIP Elections and more!

Greetings Isle of Iowans!!

Hopefully you had a fantastic weekend!  It was great to see so many of you out on Sunday for the Drop Dead Dangerous show at Cedar Ridge - great turnout!!!
I want to inform everyone about a couple of items.  First up, the ballots have been counted for the open positions on the PHIP board.  Billy Brehm (Chicago PHC) has been elected to the position of president & David Cohen (Western New York PHC) has been reelected to the position of secretary.  Congratulations to both of them!  Many of our members know (and have interacted with) Billy & it's great to have a Midwestern presence on the national board.
Next up are a couple of items regarding the Island Fever Showcase 2020 at the Surf Ballroom.   VIP table seating is already sold out (if you snoozed-you lost out).  If you would like VIP seating for the event, your last option is to purchase a VIP Booth.  VIP Booths include admission (and seating) for up to four people; your very own reserved booth located in the first two rows closest to the dance floor; a special laminate name badge; a bling bag filled with unique treasures; and a special commemorative centerpiece that hearkens back to the amazing history of the Surf Ballroom.  Each VIP Booth is priced at $525. Again, here is the link - https://islandfevershowcase.com/vipbooth

For those who would prefer to purchase General Admission passes, they will go on-sale on Wednesday, October 30, 2019 directly through the Surf Ballroom at surfballroom.com.  A limited number of two-day passes (priced at $90) and single day passes (priced at $50) will be available on a first come - first purchase basis.  Given the unprecedented interest in this event, it is anticipated that general admission tickets may sell out quickly

The updated website is up & running & looking fabulous. Check it out at https://islandfevershowcase.com/home/.  Special thanks to Bob randklev for all of his efforts & assistance in making this an incredible (and interactive) site.

Finally, we want to make you aware of the new Facebook page for the Island Fever Showcase. Please take a moment to like (and follow) the page so that you will be in the loop & get all of the latest updates about this historic event. Again, here is the link to the page - Island Fever Showcase on Facebook.

Please make sure you are thinking about the upcoming Blues-n-Buffett Chili Challenge (Sunday, February 9, 2020). Make sure that you are collecting baskets & items to fill the baskets with for the silent auction. The silent auction is the major fund-raising component of the event & it takes all hands on deck to make it successful. Please reach out to Sue Anderson with any questions, comments or suggestions for the event.

Have a great week!
